What is the Bible All About?

Perhaps the easiest way to answer this question is to consider God's stated goal for mankind. Speaking of Jesus, the Apostle Paul wrote,

"For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Phil 2:9, 10)

According to this verse, every human being will acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord. In other words, all will honour Him for who He is, and yield to His rightful authority. This declaration reveals God's passion to be acknowledged and honoured for who he is. The Bible gives instruction in many areas and reveals much about the nature of God and His purposes. However, all that God does works toward the ultimate goal of restoring the honour of His name.

The Bible, primarily, reveals God.

"And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, "HOLY, HOLY, HOLY is THE LORD GOD, THE ALMIGHTY, WHO WAS AND WHO IS AND WHO IS TO COME." (Rev 4:8)
